Established in 1986 as a sole practice, PT Design is a wholly locally owned company with a client base consisting of Architects, Building Designers, Developers, Government agencies, Builders, Homeowners, and Manufacturers / Fabricators; a base which is constantly expanding.
Led by two experienced Directors, backed by a strong team of talented engineers and detailed drafters, PT Design encourages individual excellence within team orientated collaborative culture. Ronan graduated in Ireland in 1997 from Trinty College Dublin before moving to England where he began his career with Malachy Walsh & Partners. During this period, he spent significant time on site, involved in façade and temporary works engineering on large retail projects garnering knowledge of issues which could be addressed by good design. Following his move to Adelaide in 2001 Ronan began working at PT Design, expanding his expertise in design on projects from a wide range of sectors ultimately becoming the lead residential senior engineer for the company, a role which included mentoring graduates.
Ronan was promoted to Associate in 2011 before becoming a Director in 2013. He continues to lead projects and manage design teams, maintaining a hands-on approach to construction administration. Ronan has been pivotal in the careers of many young engineers who work with PT Design, passing on his knowledge and experience to develop the next generation of local engineers.
Having graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1998, Sam begun his career as a Site Engineer with York Civil. Based in regional South Australia on a major construction project, his time on site provided a valuable insight into the practicality of what can be achieved on site, and how sensible detailing can enable an efficient construction process. After twelve months, Sam found an opportunity to purse his passion for engineering design and moved to a small consultancy. The intimate nature of a small office provided Sam with a broad understanding of different construction materials and design techniques, whilst undertaking an array of projects from numerous sectors.
Sam moved to PT Design in 2008, progressing from his initial role of Senior Structural Engineer to an Associate in 2011. In 2013 he became a Director of the company, a role he continues to fill to this day. During his time at PT Design, Sam has been involved in the design and management of numerous major projects, including high rise office and appartement projects, helping to deliver successful outcomes for all stake holders.
Passionate about the local industry and being part of successful projects, Sam values integrity and works tirelessly to ensure that the Client is looked after via economical and robust design.
